1. PLU/CSPC Sales
  • Scan product barcode.
  • Or Enter the PLU or CSPC or Alternative Code and press <CSPC>
2. Singles Sales
  • Press singles button <Singles>

If you use the scanner:

Quantity is more than 1 — enter the quantity and scan the product barcode.
Quantity equals 1 — scan product barcode.

Otherwise :

Enter the PLU or CSPC or Alternative Code and press <CSPC>

3. Quantity Enter
  • If you use the scanner — enter the quantity and scan the barcode of product.

Otherwise:

  • Enter the quantity
  • Press the button <X>
  • Enter the PLU or CSPC or Alternative Code and press <CSPC>
4. Price Change
  • Enter the price
  • Press the <Price> button
  • Enter the PLU or CSPC or Alternative Code and press <CSPC>
  • Or scan the barcode of product.
5. Edit
  • Enter the Item# (if you have to edit current item — you may miss this step)
  • Press the <Edit> button
  • Do either Quantity Enter or Price Enter or GST shift or PST shift or any combination.
6. GST Shift
  • Press the <GST shift> Button
  • If the record has GST — it is going to be removed.
  • Otherwise — GST calculation occurs.
7. GST Shift
  • Press the <PST shift> Button

If the record has PST — it is going to be removed.
Otherwise — PST calculation occurs.

8. No Sale
  • Press the <No Sale> button
9. Refund
  • Press the <Refund> button
  • Follow instruction "CSPC/PLU sales", "Quantity enter".
10. Return Deposit
  • If quantity more than 1 — enter quantity. Otherwise: skip this step.
  • Press the button <Bottle Return —10> or <Bottle Return —20> or <Bottle Return —30>
11. RA (Receive on Account)
  • Enter the amount for RA
  • Press the <RA> button
12. PO (Paid Out)
  • Enter the amount for PO
  • Press the <PO> button

If the customer uses several payment types to make payments:

  • Enter the first amount
  • Press the buttons either <cash> or <Visa> or <Master Card> or <AMEX> or <Debit> or <Client Card> or <USD>
  • Then enter the other part of balance or leave the rest
  • Press the buttons either <cash> or <Visa> or <Master Card> or <AMEX> or <Debit> or <Client Card> or <USD>
  • Etc.

Otherwise:

  • Press the buttons either <cash> or <Visa> or <Master Card> or <AMEX> or <Debit> or <Client Card> or <USD>

1. Login

The Login function occurs when the user needs to start his /her operations. It is located in the Login screen. After start up the program — the Login screen appears automatically. If you need to change login during the sales process, you have to press the <Login> button .

  • In the Login screen, enter your login ID and
  • Press <CSPC> (Enter)

If Login is incorrect — you have two more attempts.

3. Exit

This function closes the "POS Evolution " program.

  • Press the button <Exit>

To start "POS Evolution" again — click the icon "POS Evolution" on the desktop or restart the computer.

4. Receipt On/Off

This function turns the receipt printing to Mode Off or On.

The Indicator on top of the Sales screen shows which mode is currently in use.

  • Press the <Receipt On/Off> button
5. Customer Entry

This function exists to show customer information, including the bonus, or for entering new customer information.

  • Enter the customer id or telephone number, if you have it
  • Press the <Customer> button
  • If it is a new customer — press the <Customer> button
  • Enter new or edit customer information .
  • Close the window "Customer Entry"
6. Search

This function does a search of existing receipt.

  • If you use the scanner — press <Search> and scan the receipt barcode .
  • Otherwise: Enter the receipt number and press <Search> or press <Search> and enter the receipt number.
  • To close this function — press <Clear>
  • Just "manager-access" has the possibility to make correction of found receipt. Otherwise, this receipt has "Read-only" status.
7. Duplicate Receipt

This function prints the duplicate of last entered receipt or another receipt, which was found by the <Search> function.

It can also be used to do reports printing in the mode "Menu"—>"Report".

  • For printing of last entered receipt — press <Dupl.Rec.>
  • For printing the searched receipt — do Search function at first, then Press <Dupl.Rec.>
8. Not Active

This mode can be used for entering and printing the receipt with status "Not Active" (3).

Before entering "Not Active" receipt — press <Not Active> key. In right top corner of the main screen you will see a red flashing massage "Not Active". After finishing this receipt — this message will disappear, that means the mode "Not Active" is finished. You can Change mode from "Not Active" to active any time by pressing the <Clear> key!

9. Locked

This key is used to lock the keyboard temporarily.

  • Press <Locked> button when you need to protect your keyboard.
  • Press <Shift> + <Locked> to unlock the keyboard.
10. Hold/Recall

These two functions are used for receipts holding and recalling.

You can hold in memory an unlimited quantity of receipts.

  • Press <Hold> button when you would like to put the entering receipt on hold.
  • Press <Hold> button — when you would like to recall any receipt.
  • If only one receipt is on Hold status — it will be shown. If you have several receipts on Hold — you will receive the list of receipts on Hold with their Receipt number and total amount. Select what you are searching for, using keys <Line Down>, <Line Up> and press <Sales> (Enter).
  • If you know the receipt number, which you need to recall ,enter this number and press <Hold>.
11. Help

This function does the search for a special product.

  • Press <Help> button. In left bottom corner you can see the list box with all categories. Select the relative category, when searching for a product (or press All categories). You will see another list box with Product information. Select the product, you are searching for and press <Sales>.
  • If you don't wish to select an item or don't want to put any product to sale — press <Clear> any time.
12. Menu

The Menu includes <Reports> function (Look at "Reports" section) and <Emergency Exit>.

  • <Emergency Exit> key can be used when you have any unexpected trouble with POS system. It will close the system without any loss of information.
13. Enquiry

This function shows the information about specific product.

  • Press the <Enquiry> button
  • If you use the scanner — scan product barcode.
  • Otherwise: Enter the PLU or CSPC or Alternative Code and press <CSPC>
  • Press <Clear> key to finish this function.

1. Delete

This function is used for the deleting of receipt , which is not correct.

The transactions for this receipt are loaded to Data Base with status "Delete" (1) and it is not active for any operation with sales.

  • Press <Delete>. You will receive the message "To delete this receipt — press <Delete> again"
  • Press <Delete> button again, if you still wish to delete it. Otherwise — Continue your sales transactions.
2. Void

Void function can be used to delete any item in current receipt.

(*) — is indicator for "void" items.

These items have status "Delete" (1) in Data Base and don't participate in any operation with sales.

  • Enter the Item number(#) from current receipt and press <Void>
  • If you need to void last item — just press <Void> key.
  • Press <Void> again if you wish to return this item to Active status.
3. Clear

Clear key is used to clear the input buffer any time or as Esc key.

  • Press <Clear> button to delete selected item
4. <00>
  • Put <00> any time you need to enter 00
  • Press <00>
5. <.> Point
  • Press <.>, if your setup requires the point in amount entries.
6. <Backspace>
  • Use <BkSp> as usual to do correction in your entries.
7. < Line Up>, <Line Down>, <Page Up>, <Page Down>
  • Use these keys as usual.

The reports can be shown for each POS Lane and for entire store.

For each POS Lane :

  • Use POS Evolution program in POS Lane

For entire store:

  • In Back office start "POS Back End" program
  • Reports
1. Financial Report

The Financial Report shows the quantity ,amount sold for Net Sales, Taxes, Tenders, No Sale, Refund for a specific day.

  • Press <Menu> key
  • Press < 1> — Reports
  • Check one of two boxes "Total" or "Clerks"
  • You can change the date
  • Press <Sales> (Enter)
  • Press <1> — Financial

To print — press <Dupl.Rec> or < 6>.

2. Category Report

The Category Report shows the quantity, amount sold and Customers count

For each Category and Sub Category for a specific day.

  • Press <Menu> key
  • Press < 1> — Reports
  • Check one of two boxes "Total" or "Clerks"
  • You can change the date
  • Press <Sales> (Enter)
  • Press <2> — Category

To print — press <Dupl.Rec> or < 6>.

3. Hourly Report.

The Hourly Report shows the amount sold, Customers count for each Hour for a specific day.

  • Press <Menu> key
  • Press < 1> — Reports
  • Check one of two boxes "Total" or "Clerks"
  • You can change the date
  • Press <Sales> (Enter)
  • Press <3> — Category

To print — press <Dupl.Rec> or < 6>.

4. PLU Report .

The PLU Report shows the quantity, amount sold for each product ID for a specific day.

  • Press <Menu> key
  • Press < 1> — Reports
  • Check one of two boxes "Total" or "Clerks"
  • You can change the date
  • Press <Sales> (Enter)
  • Press <4> — PLU

To print — press <Dupl.Rec> or < 6>

5. Journal view

The Journal view shows the transactions from Journal table for required day in following structure: date; PLUID or User ID; Description or User Name or Payment Type; Quantity; Amount; Receipt Number; Status of transaction.

Status of transaction: 0 — active; 1 — delete; 2 — training mode; 3 — Not Active Receipt; 4 — On Hold Receipt.

  • Press <Menu> key
  • Press < 1> — Reports
  • Check one of two boxes "Total" or "Clerks"
  • You can change the date
  • Press <Sales> (Enter)
  • Press <5> — Journal

If you need to look at a more detailed Journal table — The POS Back End program in Back Office has more features:

  • Start "POS Back End"
  • Reports —> Journal

Synchronization

This function synchronizes the Local Data Base with Server Data Base. When the Server Data Base has a problem, the POS Evolution System has the ability to change the connection from Server to Local Data Base on POS Lane 1. The POS Evolution system shows the message:

"No connection with the server. Please check that the network cables are connected, verify that the server computer is up and running. Press: "Yes" to try again, "No" to use local database (only on manager approval), "Cancel" to stop this message."

  • Try to understand the situation, what is causes this problem and fix it. In this case Press <Yes>. Otherwise: Press <No> to continue sales, using Local Data Base. Or <Cancel> if you would like to close this program.

After the server is fixed and connection has occurred, you need to <Exit> POS Evolution System on Lane 1 and start again by clicking the Shortcut with POS Icon on the Desktop or restart computer.

You are going to receive the message : "The Data Base appears to be out of sync with the server. Do you wish to synchronize now and work with the server (Yes) or continue to work with Local Data Base (No)?"

If your answer is "Yes"— the system is going to do synchronization and you will work with the server Data Base.

POS Back Up

This function does a backup of the Server Data Base. Once each day the server data base will do a backup automatically.
